While I can acknowledge they are one of the best rock and roll bands to ever exist, I don't think there is more than a handful of songs I would regularly listen to. So this is basically to explain why I don't have a list of 100 LZ songs I couldn't live without. I couldn't care less about what the person is saying. There are many songs that I listen to purely for the music. To me, 99% of the time words spoken in a song only serve to amplify the underlying music. The truth of it is, I can name the list of songs I would listen to due to the lyrics ONLY on my two hands. A mainstream song needs something distinctive to attract my love. I'm an instrument minded guy, my main palette is orchestral music. So, TLDR: could the original release be marked as copyright 2014 on a streaming service? Or am I screwed?Įxtra info for the curious: It's been a while since I listened to Led Zeppelin, but my two favorite songs were always Dazed and Confused, and No Quarter. Again, no hate just my listening preference. It will be a long time before buying a whole CD for 3 or 4 songs I'd actually listen to makes financial sense. I enjoy very much the songs that I do enjoy, but not much else. Not to incite anger, but I'm no LZ fanboy. ![]() I would have to buy the CDs separately, but with my budget for CD purchases this will take a while. I mean, the fervor on this forum regarding the quality of the remasters has me scared, but I can't verify this for myself if the originals aren't on Tidal. Am I correct to operate under the assumption that Tidal does not have non-remastered versions of Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV? Is there a plausible reason why the original release might be listed as copyrighted 2014? Gonna be displeased if I have no option for listening to non-remastered versions of songs that I enjoy. For albums such as Physical Graffiti, where it is just the album and no deluxe or remastered, the copyright is original release (ie, pre 1982). However, at the bottom of the tracklisting is the copyright, and for these deluxe albums the copyright is 2014. Now, many of the albums, particularly Led Zeppelin through Led Zeppelin IV have two (?) albums labeled "remastered" and another 2 (seriously idk) labeled "deluxe" but doesn't say remastered. My only listening outlet at this current time is Tidal, the streaming service. ![]() ![]() Most recently, was doing some research on navigating the many polarizing LZ remasters and come to the conclusion that my best bet was the original releases, not any remasters. New to the forum, but I've read many forum posts in the past.
